Where Do We stand?

As part of the Artist Lab: Art Meets History in New Mexico, a four-week educational program designed to foster the integration of history into contemporary art practices, Dr. Alicia Inez Guzmán speaks on the complex history of New Mexico. She speaks about the early peoples living in Santa Fe and the surrounding landscape both Native American and Spanish, discusses the importance of maps to the Spanish, explores Native American slavery, speaks about Santa Feans' deeply mixed descent, and much much more.
